Junky star è il terzo album del cantautore folk country rock americano, realizzato con la collaborazione dei suoi "The Dead Horses".
Il disco, prodotto dal Premio Oscar T-Bone Burnett è forse il disco più rockeggiante di Ryan nonostante a detta di alcuni si tratti dell'ennesimo lavoro "cinematografico".
Nella versione europea di Junky Star vi è una bonus track: "The Weary kind", brano vincitore del Premio Oscar come Miglior canzone nel 2010 composta insieme a T-Bone Burnett.
