Era il 1994 quando l'allora ventiquattrenne Mariah Carey, reduce da "Without You" considerata una delle canzoni d'amore più belle di tutti i tempi, ci deliziò con uno splendido album, di canzoni natalizie.
Oggi, nel 2010 alla veneranda età di 40 anni ed a 16 inverni dal primo "Merry Christmas" pubblica un secondo disco dedicato al natale intitolato semplicemente "Merry Christmas II You".
